About

AI built the way real businesses run.

Connexion AI is an AI ops practice based in Indianapolis. We design and build the agents, automations, internal tools, and integrations that give small and mid-size operations their hours back. Sharpened during 430+ hours embedded inside a real, working business. Twice a week in the office, watching the work software does not handle, before it was ever offered as a service.

Mission

We exist to give small and mid-size businesses their hours back, so the humans inside them can do the work only humans can do.

Everything else on this page is downstream of that one sentence. The way we scope work, the way we ship it, the way we operate what we've built.

430+

Hours embedded inside a real operation

Twice a week in the office, before this was offered as a service. The system we built there still runs today.

4

Core shapes of work we build across

Custom AI agents, workflow automation, internal tools, and integrations. Most engagements blend two or three.

5

Businesses we have built for

Tenant tracking, a bidding agent, two voice agents, a knowledge collector, and a Notion digest. Plus two products built in-house.

What we do

AI ops, designed and built for your operation.

We design and build the AI plumbing that quietly runs in the background of your business: custom agents, workflow automation, internal tools, and the integrations that make everything talk. Tuned to your operation, not a template.

We don't run a packaged "AI transformation" playbook. We pick the highest-leverage work first, ship it on a deadline, and only build the next thing once the first one is paying for itself. How an engagement actually runs.

430+ hours, embedded

I started Connexion AI after spending 430+ hours embedded inside a real business. Twice a week, in the office, watching the work software was supposed to handle and didn't. The system we built there is still running today. It's why this practice exists.

Most AI consultants take whatever client comes in the door, learn the industry on the prospect's dime, and ship a slightly different version of the same demo every time. That model produces fragile systems and shallow understanding. I wanted to do the opposite: actually live inside an operation, build something real, and only then offer it as a service.

The work taught me what most AI deployments get wrong. They assume the technology is the hard part. It isn't. The hard part is the business: the messy human workflows, the tools that don't talk to each other, the judgment calls that should stay human and the everything-else that absolutely shouldn't. Good AI ops is mostly software engineering and design, with a model somewhere in the middle.

Connexion AI brings that same approach to clients across industries: design first, build deliberately, ship on a deadline. If you want to see what that would look like for your specific operation, the 7-minute Automation Assessment is the fastest path to a real answer.

How we work

Four principles, applied to every engagement.

Trust over pressure

No manufactured urgency. No "limited slots this month." No following up more than twice after a clean no. Better leads, better fit, better outcomes for everyone.

No black box

You will understand what we build and why. We do not hide the work behind 'AI magic' language. If we cannot explain it in plain English, we will not ship it, and if you cannot run it without us, we did the job wrong.

Built to last

Quick wins are great. Quick fixes are not. Every system we ship has error handling, logging, and a clean off-switch wired in from the start, designed to keep working when models update, tools change, and your operation grows.

Real work, real proof

We point to systems running in production, not slide decks. Every claim on this site maps back to a system you could see operating today, not a research project or a generic case study we lifted from somewhere else.

How we're structured

Senior attention, end to end.

Every engagement gets senior-level attention from the person who wrote the proposal. No account managers, no hand-offs, no junior implementers learning your stack on your dime.

For specialized work (custom middleware, less common platforms, the edge cases your operation surfaces) we bring in technical partners we have vetted in production. You get the right capability for each piece of the build without paying for full-time specialists you only need 5% of the time.

The approach is the same regardless of who is on the build team. Design before you build. Ship something real on the deadline. Document it in plain English. The retainer is how you stay in relief without having to project-manage anyone yourself.
